New Urban Series

Friday, September 7th, 2012

Got Urban? No? Get some.  The clean lines juxtaposed to the raw reclaimed materials is a big F.U. to the commercialized mainstream uniformity, creatures of the commonplace can shop elsewhere. For this piece we used three of my favorite materials – galvanized steel with a patina reminiscent of vintage industrial finishes, this is paired with charcoal concrete and reclaimed original face circle-sawn Oak. For more info on how we can help urbanize your dwelling give us a shout, we would love to get involved. – Cheers

Yellowstone National Park gets some concreteness

Tuesday, May 31st, 2011

When Yellowstone National Park contacted us about making some recycled concrete countertops for Mammoth hotel I thought to myself, what a great opportunity to save $25 on my entrance fee and get into the park for free!  Ha, actually is was a great opportunity to show off the greener side of concrete at one of our country’s greatest national parks.  For this project they wanted to use materials that were recycled from the park itself and in the process educate their guests about the some of the possibilities of recycling.
We gathered glass bottles from the recycling stations around the park and brought them back to our studio to the glass crusher/cement mixer with big rocks in it.  This crushed glass was then [...]

Metal plated concrete

Monday, May 16th, 2011

That’s right, one of our more recent additions to our line of exclusive finishes is actual metal plated concrete.  These finishes are currently available in copper, bronze, and zinc, the copper and bronze are both living finishes meaning they can patina beautifully over time while the silvery zinc is more stable and less prone to color changes.  Keep an eye out for more projects coming up featuring these unique finishes, meanwhile start brainstorming where you can use some of our concreteness in your home or business.  Here are a few ideas to get the ball rolling – countertops, sinks, soaking tubs, wall veneers, floor and wall tiles, shower surrounds, stair treads, retail displays, shelves, and countless other furnishings.

New Artist Series

Tuesday, November 2nd, 2010

We are currently rolling out our artist series of concrete countertops and wall panels.  As shown in the pictures this line is quite a bit different than our some of our other options due to the fact that multiple colors are used and each piece is truly one of a kind.  This line is perfect for the client who wants something a little less conservative and is willing to give some artistic license to the artisan.

Another great application for our artist series is featured at this sportsman’s paradise in beautiful Melrose, MT.  The outdoor BBQ is a great place to get creative and have some fun with concrete countertops, and that’s just what we did while still working with a color pallet that [...]

Here are a few photos taken at the Under Armor store in Annapolis, MD. Under Armor was founded by former University of Maryland special teams captain, Kevin Plank”. For their hometown store, Under Armor wanted their customers to feel like they were walking through a stadium tunnel on game day. Custom 4′ x 8′ concrete panels were used to create this unique storefront design.
